Japanese Speaking Localisation Associate

My client is looking to on board an associate for the Localisation to be based in their West London office. Ideal for candidates passionate about using prior localisation experience within the gaming industry and who can envision themselves working on a variety of materials- no two days are the same and you will be kept busy in this role!


Responsibilities:
* Primarily coordinating the localisation of in game material and other related texts from Japanese into European languages
*Localisation of glossary terms and running QA checks
*Liaising with internal and external partners worldwide to ensure timely delivery (to a high standard) of projects
*Assisting internal teams including but not limited to Product Development, Localisation, Tech and Marketing

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
*High level of attention to detail, and expertise in effectively handling urgent deadlines
* Experience of cooperating with a translation team
*High level of communication skills in Japanese and English
*Knowledge of additional European languages preferred but not essential
*Knowledge, interest or experience in technology or gaming sector

Education
* Degree level education

About me: I’ve always wanted a career that centered around working with people and one that presented me with new challenges every single day. Learning a language is so much more than the words on a page because you also find out a lot about the culture attached to it. I started studying Spanish at school and enjoyed it immensely from the offset, involving myself in two Spanish drama productions and choosing to continue learning it until the end of Sixth form. Having family and friends based in Italy allows me to travel there regularly, taking full advantage of the wonderful cuisine every time I go!

I would say that my  main hobby is lacrosse. Training/competing still occupies a lot of my spare time.

If I were a famous person, I would be: Adele – her voice is amazing and she’s so down to earth
