Our client is an international media and publishing company focused on Lifestyle and Beauty. To help build the German market, they are looking for a Junior Business Development Manager to join their sales team in Frankfurt am Main. This is a full time, permanent role.

Your new duties and responsibilities

As the new Junior Business Development Manager, you will be an integral part of the sales team. You will be responsible for engaging with senior decision makers within your existing client base as well as new potential clients and to awaken their interest in the services offered. You will develop and qualify opportunities through research, prospecting, needs analysis and defining requirements.

The approach to business development is based on strategic content marketing and not cold calling. This will include research, analysis and targeted content to a smaller number of key contacts. The key is a smaller number of qualified leads and quality based content and not a large number of for example cold calls.

Other day-to-day duties will include:

  • Email and gain commitment from c-level contacts
  • Pitch the services in an engaging way through the sales channels
  • Build long lasting relationships with existing clients
  • Work towards targets
  • Take ownership of marketing and business development campaigns whilst working closely with marketing, CRM, and design teams
  • Desire to understand the business needs of the potential clients
  • Work with the company CRM system
  • Become an efficient expert on the company’s products and services
  • Continues market- and competitor research


Your profile

As the new Junior Business Development Manager, you should have some first experience in similar type of role within business development, account management, sales, lead generation, market research.

Experience and interest in media, publishing, online marketing and lifestyle and beauty is of advantage.

The ideal candidate should also have the following qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent level of studies
  • First experience in a similar role
  • Ability and experience working towards targets
  • Experience and/ or knowledge within media, online marketing, Lifestyle & Beauty
  • Excellent customer relations, verbal and written communications skills
  • Fluent German and very good English skills
