Our client, a world leader in email and web content security, based in Berkshire, is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join their team.
This position offers the opportunity for the successful candidate to be involved in the deployment , patching and maintenance of enterprise systems and applications with a focus on core Microsoft technologies. Job responsibilities will include the maintenance and support of our client's infrastructure , R&D, and customer service environments (physically and in the Cloud)
*Actively monitoring and supporting internal and external systems infrastructure systems (incident & problem management) liaising with colleagues in regional locations when required.
*Ensuring the Transition of infrastructure and services is planned (change management) and follows best practices and adheres to documented change management procedures.
*Supporting the Service Delivery Manager in the management of our client's products, customer services and R&D environments.
*Compiling comprehensive audits of potential risks and threats.
*Developing general and detailed documentation describing system specifications and operating instruments.
*Carrying out security assessments in relation to projects and change management.
*Participating as a Service Desk support team member when required, resolving client side issues.
*Supporting Business Continuity processes (back-ups, replication etc….)
*Liaising with third party vendors when required.
*Participating in out of hours support coverage.

*Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
*An understanding of security and networking technologies.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to cope well and work under pressure.
*Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise , meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
Required technical knowledge
*At least one significant professional experience implementing and managing core Microsoft Stack (MCSE equivalent certification and above)
*Automation tools and applications
*Various scripting technologies (Bash, Perl, Python, Shell)
*Microsoft MCSA certification or above.
*Experience administering and supporting virtualization platforms ( VMWare AND Hyper-V)
*Experience implementing and managing Linux Operating Systems.
*Managing Cloud Solutions ( IaaS, Azure, AWS)
*Experience managing data centre related technologies ( SAN's, Switches, VLANs, Routers, Servers, Firewalls).
*Solid understanding of ITIL principals ( design , transition, operations)
*Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, Sharepoint.
*Working knowledge of VOIP infrastructure.
*Subject matter knowledge of PCs and Mobile Devices.
Desired knowledge and experience
*Certified networking credential (CCNA or equivalent)
*VMWare vMotion knowledge
*Web Infrastructure and application support
*Veeam Back-up and Replication.
