In this role you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Data relating to all types of funds and collective investment schemes across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Whether you are sourcing relevant market data from new or existing providers, processing complex financial data or implementing technology solutions to enhance processes and software, your work will ensure that the business delivers accurate market data to the financial world first. Responsibilities and duties of this role: -Inform and advise the company group and its employees of their obligations pursuant to global data protection and privacy legislation, including the UK, EU (e.g., GDPR), US and other countries. -Monitor compliance with data protection and privacy legislation and the company group's related policies in an environment dealing with significant amounts of personal data. This may include, but is not limited to, the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations, and the related audits. -Provide advice where requested regarding data protection impact assessments, and monitor their performance pursuant to relevant data protection and privacy legislation. -Cooperate with, and act as the contact point for, the supervisory authorities where necessary. -Review current practices and technology to develop a risk management framework and work with Product and Engineering teams to ensure the right technology is developed and deployed across the group. Monitor regulatory/legislative developments and update company policies and processes as required. -Advise and support teams across the business to meet their obligations to protect personal data in line with legislation, and provide training and guidance materials as required. -Handle internal and external queries as necessary in relation to data protection investigations and practices, withdrawal of consent, right to be forgotten and other data subject rights. -Report risks and data breaches to senior management as required, and where appropriate to the supervisory authority. -Ensure business assets containing personal data are identified, managed and are subject to suitable controls. -Work alongside Product and Engineering teams to understand the upcoming development roadmap and any perceived future risks. -Provide updates on the data protection compliance programme to the Board and management as appropriate. Skills and Knowledge required for this role: -Expert knowledge of global and national data protection laws and practices, as well as the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). -Ability to fulfil the tasks of a Data Protection Officer as referred to in Article 39 of the GDPR, and able to show relevant experience. -Good knowledge of SaaS and enterprise software. As well as experience conducting data privacy compliance reviews/audits. -Recognized privacy qualifications (e.g., IAPP CIPP/E, BCS/ISEB). -Excellent communication skills (both written and oral). -Occasional travel outside the UK.
